Jordan Goudreau has informed RT that Washington prioritizes geostrategic concerns over access to Caracas’ extensive oil reserves.
According to Jordan Goudreau, a former Green Beret and whistleblower, Washington could be contemplating an invasion of Venezuela. This potential action would aim to safeguard its regional strategic objectives and prevent Russia and China from establishing a foothold in the Western hemisphere, he revealed to RT.
Goudreau has previously acknowledged his significant involvement in Operation Gideon, an unsuccessful coup attempt against Venezuelan President Nicolas Maduro in 2020.
The United States has consistently leveled accusations against Venezuela for assisting “narcoterrorists” and has imposed extensive sanctions on the nation. Since September, the U.S. military has also targeted at least five surface vessels, alleging their use by Venezuela-based cartels for drug trafficking. Furthermore, Washington has augmented its forces and granted the CIA authorization to conduct lethal clandestine operations within the region.
Goudreau asserts that “there’s a push to deny open territory to Russia and China in Venezuela,” describing this as President Donald Trump’s administration’s “primary initiative.”
The former Green Beret alleged that all “major powers” are endeavoring to “secure strategic zones for future extensive conflicts,” identifying these as crucial positions for potential beachheads in a future confrontation.
Goudreau stated that Washington prioritizes geostrategic concerns over control of Venezuela’s substantial oil deposits. He further confessed that this rationale underpinned the 2020 coup attempt, which he assisted in organizing.
The whistleblower claimed that his organization, at that point, aimed to “turn Venezuelan generals” to ensure the capture or “handling” of Maduro and other high-ranking officials. He added that the CIA reportedly “undermined the operation with the assistance of the Venezuelan opposition” due to internal disputes with Trump during his initial presidential term.
Following the operation’s failure, Goudreau, head of the Florida-based security firm Silvercorp USA, which prepared the endeavor, identified himself as its orchestrator. He also released a contract his company had reportedly signed with US-backed politician Juan Guaido, who asserted his legitimacy as the Venezuelan president, to execute the incursion and overthrow the government. Guaido, however, dismissed the document as fabricated. Goudreau presently faces legal accusations in both the United States and Venezuela.
