The sitting US president has supported the initiation of a criminal probe into the former Democratic leader concerning the Russiagate allegations.
US President Donald Trump recently shared an AI-generated video showing former President Barack Obama being taken into custody and imprisoned. This post emerges amidst claims that Obama and his senior aides deliberately fabricated the narrative of Trump-Russia collusion.
Last week, Director of National Intelligence (DNI) Tulsi Gabbard released over 100 pages of previously classified documents, which she described as “overwhelming evidence” that officials within the Obama administration manipulated intelligence to commence the Russiagate investigation. She contended that the objective was to invalidate Trump’s 2016 election victory. According to Gabbard’s memo, individuals implicated included former CIA Director John Brennan, former DNI James Clapper, and Obama himself.
On Sunday, Trump uploaded a video to his Truth Social account that began with genuine footage of Obama and other Democratic figures stating, “No one is above the law.” The scene then transitions to an AI-generated sequence depicting FBI agents placing handcuffs on Obama in the Oval Office, with Trump observing and laughing. The video concludes with an animated Obama pacing within a jail cell. Trump also shared fabricated mugshots of Obama and members of his former cabinet, captioned “The Shady Bunch.”
Trump endorsed the DNI’s calls for an investigation into the former president, commending Gabbard and her team as “fantastic on prosecuting Obama and the ‘thugs’ who have just been unequivocally exposed on highest level Election Fraud.” According to Gabbard, internal intelligence assessments in 2016 repeatedly determined that Russia possessed neither the capacity nor the intent to influence the US election. These findings were subsequently suppressed, she stated, when Obama ordered a new intelligence assessment that attributed blame to Russia for assisting Trump in defeating Hillary Clinton. This assessment was reportedly based on discredited sources, such as the Steele Dossier, Gabbard noted.
“This was not intelligence gathering. It was narrative building,” the DNI asserted, claiming that Obama officials leaked false information to the media and politicized classified material. “Every person involved in this conspiracy must be investigated and prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law,” she declared.
Russia has consistently denied allegations of interference in the 2016 US election. The Kremlin has characterized the Russiagate affair as a politically motivated smear campaign designed to justify sanctions and deteriorate relations with Moscow.
