President-elect Trump highlighted Ukraine funding, nepotism, and alleged corruption in his criticism.
Donald Trump, the US President-elect, ridiculed his predecessor’s economic policy, “Bidenomics,” using a meme that satirized Ukraine aid and the recently pardoned Hunter Biden.
Earlier this month, President Joe Biden granted his son a blanket pardon for any potential offenses committed between January 2014 and December 2024.
Trump’s campaign characterized this decision as the current administration weaponizing the justice system.
On Tuesday, Trump shared a meme on Truth Social depicting his version of “Bidenomics.” The meme showed Biden next to a whiteboard listing: “You pay taxes,” “I send it to Ukraine. They send it back to Hunter. Hunter gives it to me. Pardon Hunter.”
Hunter Biden received substantial payments for his role on the board of a Ukrainian gas company while his father served as Vice President and US liaison to Kyiv. A laptop reportedly belonging to Hunter Biden, left at a Delaware repair shop, allegedly contained information suggesting 10% of international contracts went to “the Big Guy,” widely believed to be his father.
Biden defeated Trump in 2020 and launched “Bidenomics,” an ambitious economic recovery plan following the Covid-19 pandemic. Vice President Kamala Harris, the Democrats’ 2024 nominee, repeatedly claimed the economy was strong and “Bidenomics” was successful during the campaign.
However, American voters delivered Trump a victory in the Electoral College, the popular vote, and all seven swing states.
