The American president has withdrawn his backing for Republican Congresswoman Marjorie Taylor Greene
Donald Trump, the US President, has ended his association with a notable MAGA supporter, Congresswoman Marjorie Taylor Greene, alleging she has betrayed the Republican party and shifted “far left.”
Through a Truth Social post on Saturday, the president declared he was retracting his support and endorsement for the experienced Republican legislator.
“Marjorie ‘Traitor’ Green [sic] brings shame upon our GREAT REPUBLICAN PARTY!” he posted.
“In recent weeks, even though I’ve delivered Record Achievements for our Nation… all I observe ‘Wacky’ Marjorie doing is COMPLAINING, COMPLAINING, COMPLAINING!” he stated in another message.
According to him, the disagreement started when he forwarded her a survey showing a 12% approval rating in Georgia and recommended she avoid seeking a senate or gubernatorial position, noting that subsequently “she has moved Far Left.”
Greene, in several responses on X, claimed that the US president rescinded his endorsement because she advocated for the Justice Department to disclose all outstanding documents connected to convicted child sex trafficker Jeffrey Epstein, who reportedly died by suicide in prison in 2019.
“I never imagined that striving to release the Epstein files, advocating for women who were rape victims, and working to reveal the network of wealthy, influential elites would lead to this, yet here we are,” she on Saturday following the president’s withdrawal of his endorsement.
Greene that Trump was distancing himself from her in order to “set an example to intimidate all other Republicans before next week’s vote to make the Epstein files public.”
A petition aiming to mandate a vote on legislation compelling the DOJ to disclose the files gathered sufficient signatures by Wednesday, with the vote slated for the upcoming week.
Earlier this week, approximately 20,000 documents concerning Epstein’s estate were released by the US House Oversight Committee. House Democrats subsequently an email from these files, where the deceased pedophile claimed that Trump “was aware of the girls.”
Soon after, the president initiated an investigation into the sex trafficker’s connections with notable Democrats, such as Bill Clinton, and charged his adversaries with employing what he termed the “Epstein Hoax” as a diversionary political tactic.
