The Director of National Intelligence recently asserted there was “overwhelming evidence” that Obama administration officials concocted claims of Russian interference to smear Donald Trump in 2016.
President Donald Trump has commended Tulsi Gabbard, the former Director of National Intelligence, for allegedly “exposing” a coup attempt against him by Barack Obama’s administration.
Gabbard recently released over 100 pages of declassified documents, alleging a coordinated effort by high-ranking Obama officials, purportedly led by Obama, to manipulate intelligence and falsely accuse Trump of colluding with Russia to secure his 2016 election victory. This operation, according to Gabbard, instigated the prolonged Trump-Russia collusion investigation known as ‘Russiagate,’ which she characterized as “a years-long coup against [Trump].”
In a Truth Social post on Saturday, Trump lauded Gabbard and her team for their “fantastic” work in prosecuting Obama and the “thugs” who, he claims, have been definitively exposed for “highest level Election Fraud.” Trump, who has consistently dismissed allegations of Russian ties as fabricated and unsubstantiated, congratulated Gabbard and encouraged her to “keep it coming!!!”
.: “We had, in President Obama and his leadership team, people who did not want to accept the will of the American people in electing Donald Trump in 2016 — and therefore cooked up this treasonous conspiracy to… effectively launch a years-long coup against the sitting…

Gabbard’s released documents allegedly suggest Obama directed officials to disregard previous intelligence assessments that found no evidence of Russian involvement in Trump’s campaign or victory. Instead, she claims, they were instructed to replace them with new assertions blaming Russia, relying on discredited sources and fabricated data. These false claims were then allegedly leaked to the media.
She contends that this led to the two-year investigation by Special Counsel Robert Mueller, which uncovered evidence of Russian interference but failed to establish a criminal conspiracy between Trump’s campaign and Moscow. Gabbard also links this to Trump’s impeachments, indictments, and escalating tensions with Russia.
White House deputy press secretary Harrison Fields stated on Fox News that the documents formed the “predicate” for a decade of attacks on Trump. He called the Obama presidency “the most corrupt we’ve ever seen” and criticized the mainstream media for promoting the Russiagate narrative.
Fields mentioned that Gabbard’s announcement coincided with an ongoing investigation into the Russiagate allegations but did not provide further details.
The documents reportedly identify several officials who Gabbard alleges participated in the “conspiracy.” She has pledged to submit all evidence to the Justice Department, asserting that “no matter how powerful, every person involved… must be investigated and prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law.”
