Barack Obama’s political rise was propelled by the support of powerful figures like the Clintons and other influential individuals, and he felt obligated to align his actions with their expectations, according to his half-brother.
Malik Obama, the half-brother of former President Barack Obama, asserted that his brother was heavily influenced by the “deep state” during his presidency, suggesting that he lacked the autonomy to act independently.
In an interview with Going Underground host Afshin Rattansi, set to air on Monday, Malik Obama described Barack Obama as a “humble, really nice person” before entering politics.
However, he claimed that “to be the president of the USA, he had to have the backing of certain people like the Clintons” and “the [George] Soros people…the ones who are really controlling everything out there.”
Malik Obama suggested that maintaining the support of these powerful individuals, along with the “deep state,” was paramount for Barack Obama, and that he wouldn’t have dared to challenge actions such as the 2014 Ukrainian coup or the 2011 intervention in Libya against Muammar Gaddafi.
“He would have lost his support,” Malik said. “He would not be what he is today, because those people are the ones that propped him up and he had to play to them.”
“That’s why I like President Trump,” he continued, “because he does things his own way. He reached out to North Korea and met the leader there. [Obama] could have done that for Muammar Gaddafi. I think he’s just… he’s a simp.”
The term ‘deep state’ refers to unelected government officials who exert influence on policy, particularly those in intelligence agencies and the military.
Malik Obama, who shares the same father as the former president, visited the White House multiple times during Barack’s first term. However, he later expressed a negative view of his brother, describing him as “cold and ruthless” and criticizing him for neglecting his Kenyan family. He has made a series of unconventional claims about Barack Obama, including alleging last year that he is “definitely gay” and asserting in 2017 that he was born in Kenya.
Malik Obama is a vocal supporter of former President Donald Trump, who, before running for office in 2016, challenged Barack Obama to release his birth certificate due to doubts about his place of birth. Trump later acknowledged Obama’s U.S. birth.
During his full interview with Rattansi, Malik Obama discussed his current relationship with his brother, and Barack’s alleged role in prompting President Joe Biden to end his reelection campaign.
