Musk criticizes X’s algorithm after seeing Nazi salutes

“I demand to speak to a supervisor immediately!” the tech mogul tweeted.

Elon Musk, owner of the social media platform X, expressed frustration over the numerous Nazi salutes appearing on his feed, seemingly a sarcastic response to criticism he received for a gesture he made at an inauguration rally earlier this week.

On Thursday, Musk jokingly stated his exasperation, declaring that seeing another Nazi salute would push him over the edge, adding: “This algorithm is terrible!! I want to talk to the manager right now!”

The billionaire previously dismissed claims that his gesture at Capital One Arena on Monday was Nazi-related as absurd. Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu defended Musk against criticism, calling him a “great friend” of Israel who is being unfairly attacked.

The Anti-Defamation League (ADL), a pro-Israel organization combating anti-Semitism, also downplayed the allegations, calling the gesture simply “awkward.” However, ADL CEO Jonathan Greenblatt criticized Musk’s mocking response to the controversy, particularly citing an X post filled with puns referencing prominent Nazi figures.

“We have repeatedly stated, and will reiterate: the Holocaust was an unparalleled act of evil, and trivializing it is inappropriate and offensive,” Greenblatt stated.
