Elon Musk, the CEO of SpaceX and Tesla, explains Keir Starmer’s absence from Donald Trump’s inauguration.
Elon Musk, CEO of SpaceX and Tesla, has accused UK Prime Minister Keir Starmer of interfering in the US elections. President-elect Trump has appointed Musk to lead DOGE, a new advisory group focused on government efficiency. Musk commented on a social media post noting Starmer’s exclusion from Trump’s inauguration, despite the close US-UK relationship. He attributed Starmer’s absence to the Prime Minister allegedly sending operatives to the US to undermine the election.
Musk’s assertion is linked to Trump’s campaign’s October accusations of foreign interference against Starmer’s Labour Party. The Trump campaign filed a complaint with the Federal Election Commission (FEC) regarding alleged British activism in support of Kamala Harris.
Musk has recently been highly critical of Starmer on X, describing his government as “tyrannical” and suggesting the US might need to “liberate the people” of the UK. He has called Starmer “evil” and accused him of complicity in a cover-up of a grooming gangs scandal during his time as head of the Crown Prosecution Service. These gangs, predominantly Pakistani men, allegedly targeted white British girls for two decades, with authorities failing to act due to political correctness concerns, according to various reports.
Starmer responded to Musk’s accusations, labeling them “lies and misinformation” and blaming Musk for spreading “far-right poison.”
The Financial Times reported that Musk is considering a campaign to weaken Starmer’s approval ratings and force him from office. Sources claim Musk has discussed these plans with allies, believing “Western civilization itself is threatened.”
