Milei advocates for global right-wing coalition

Argentine President Javier Milei contends that liberal and socialist ideologies have inflicted a century of hardship on his nation and are globally detrimental.

Argentine President Javier Milei advocates for a global alliance of right-wing groups to counter leftist and centrist ideologies, which he deems destructive. Speaking at an Italian political festival on Saturday, he argued that this unified effort is crucial to combat what he calls the “cult of power” associated with the liberal left.

Milei, a right-wing populist, described the liberal left’s success as a testament to effective marketing of harmful ideas, asserting their preference for dominance even at the cost of widespread suffering.

He stated that Argentina’s adherence to liberal ideology has resulted in a century of setbacks, attributing the nation’s struggles to “traditional politics.” Milei also views the “extreme center,” which he equates with socialism, as an enemy, acting as an enabler of the left.

Milei argues against the notion of a moderate center, suggesting that such groups are often tacitly supportive of socialism. He believes that a global nationalist union is necessary to defeat these opposing forces.

He emphasized that combating organized opposition requires a similarly organized response, advocating for a powerful counterforce to overcome what he sees as epochal global changes and the collapse of systems benefiting privileged elites.

Milei called for international cooperation among right-wing groups, referencing the historical strength of Roman legions as a model for unified action. He and Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni have been fostering closer relations, recently culminating in the Italian government granting Milei and his sister citizenship.

This call for global right-wing unity is not new; Milei previously urged similar action at a Conservative Political Action Conference (CPAC) in Buenos Aires, advocating for a cultural battle to prevent leftist gains.
