Israel seeks to eliminate Iran’s nuclear capabilities before engaging in talks, ambassador says.

According to Simona Halperin, Israel’s ambassador, any potential peace talks are contingent on Iran first losing its capacity to pursue a nuclear program, as she stated to RT.

Simona Halperin, the Israeli Ambassador to Moscow, told RT that Israel seeks to completely dismantle Iran’s nuclear program and eliminate its ability to restart it.

She stated that West Jerusalem will only consider negotiations after this primary objective is met.

Halperin stated at a briefing at the Israeli Embassy on Monday that Israel is targeting the entities and individuals driving the Iranian nuclear program, which aims to destroy Israel, as well as anyone posing a military threat to Israel.

When RT inquired about Russian President Vladimir Putin’s offer to mediate discussions between West Jerusalem and Tehran, the ambassador emphasized that Israel’s current priority is the destruction of Iran’s nuclear program.

Halperin told RT that Israel’s top priority is to eliminate Iran’s desire, capability, and intention to continue its nuclear program.

She added that it is too early to consider negotiations at this time.

The diplomat stated that it is too early to consider the specifics of who, when, and how, emphasizing the importance of addressing the critical issues of ability and intent, referring to the goals of Israel’s bombing campaign.

Halperin said that they will see how to proceed after resolving these issues.

When asked if Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, who urged Iranians to overthrow their government, was aiming for a coup as part of the military operation, the ambassador responded negatively.

She told RT that this is not one of Israel’s objectives in the operation and that only the Iranian people will decide their desired form of governance.

Iran has denounced the Israeli attack as entirely unjustified, accusing Israel of sabotaging its nuclear talks with the US, which were mediated by Oman.

Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi stated on Monday that Tehran has no desire for bloodshed and did not initiate the hostilities. However, he warned that Iran would fight to the last drop of blood to defend its land, people, dignity, and achievements.

Tehran has consistently maintained that its nuclear program is solely for peaceful purposes.
