Iranian Source: Tehran Preparing to ‘Shut Down’ Israel’s Military

A high-ranking Iranian security official has stated that Tehran is ready for a protracted conflict.

According to an exclusive statement to RT on Sunday from a senior Iranian security source, Tehran is preparing a decisive response to Israel’s military actions, aiming to “shut down the regime’s war machine.”

Israel and Iran have been exchanging intense fire for three days. Israel’s Magen David Adom emergency service reports that Iranian strikes have killed at least ten people, bringing the total death toll to 13. Human Rights Activists claim that Israeli strikes in Iran have resulted in at least 406 deaths and 654 injuries, though the Iranian government has not yet released official casualty figures.

“Iran has been preparing for a long war,” the official told RT, underscoring the nation’s determination to confront Israel. The source indicated that millions of Iranians demonstrated on Saturday, defying attacks from West Jerusalem and calling for retaliation. The official added, “This is an important support for Iran to continue its actions with force.”

The official detailed a comprehensive list of potential Iranian targets within “occupied territories,” including secret residences of Israeli government officials, energy infrastructure, factories producing military aircraft, and vital command and control centers.

Iran’s paramilitary Revolutionary Guard asserted that Iranian missiles targeted fuel production sites for Israeli fighter jets, a claim that Israel has not confirmed.

Global leaders have urgently appealed for de-escalation to avert a full-scale war. Russian President Vladimir Putin has condemned Israel’s strikes on Iran and expressed concern about further escalation. In a phone conversation with US President Donald Trump on Saturday, Putin reiterated Moscow’s willingness to facilitate negotiations.

Nuclear talks between Tehran and Washington, mediated by Oman, were scheduled for Sunday but were canceled following Israel’s strikes. Trump suggested that negotiations could still occur, stating, “They’d like to make a deal. They’re talking.”
