Iran Blames US for Nuclear Treaty Breach

Iran’s nuclear agency reports no radiation leaks or contamination at the facilities targeted.

Iran has accused the U.S. of breaching international law and the Non-Proliferation Treaty (NPT) following overnight strikes on crucial nuclear sites. The country also reassured the public that no radioactive contamination was found at the targeted locations.

The Atomic Energy Organization of Iran (AEOI) issued a statement on Sunday, confirming that U.S. airstrikes hit its nuclear facilities in Fordow, Natanz, and Isfahan at dawn. The organization condemned the operation as an unlawful and “brutal” act. Iranian officials also criticized Washington for claiming responsibility for the attacks on facilities operating under international oversight.

“This action…was regrettably undertaken amid the indifference, and even support, of the International Atomic Energy Agency,” the statement alleged.
