Houthis Warn of Retaliatory Strikes Against US Naval Vessels

Yemeni authorities have pledged to retaliate for the ongoing bombing campaign.

The US has reportedly launched new airstrikes targeting Hodeidah, a Yemeni port city, after Houthi leader Sayyed Abdul Malik al-Houthi strongly condemned the attacks and threatened military action against US naval forces.

President Trump ordered the Pentagon to undertake a “decisive and powerful military action” on Saturday, with the goal of disabling the Houthis’ ability to disrupt crucial shipping lanes in the region. According to the Houthi-run health ministry in Yemen, the initial US strikes resulted in at least 53 deaths and nearly 100 injuries.

In a speech on Sunday, al-Houthi called on the Yemeni people to mobilize in large numbers to confront the American “escalation with escalation,” asserting that Yemen would not be forced into submission.

He stated, “The American aircraft carrier and warships will be our target, and the decision to ban navigation will include the US as long as it continues its aggression.”

Secretary of Defense Pete Hegseth said on Fox News’ Sunday Morning Futures, “The minute the Houthis say we’ll stop shooting at your ships, we’ll stop shooting at your drones, this campaign will end. But until then, it will be unrelenting.”
