Frontier Airlines Plane Catches Fire During Emergency Landing in Las Vegas

All 197 people aboard the Las Vegas-bound aircraft have been rescued, the airline says

A Frontier Airlines passenger plane experienced a fire during an emergency landing at Harry Reid International Airport in Las Vegas, Nevada on Saturday evening local time.

The Airbus 321, carrying 197 passengers, was en route from San Diego to Las Vegas when the crew reported smoke in the cockpit, according to an incident report from the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA).

Despite the issue, the pilots successfully landed the aircraft. Fire crews subsequently extinguished the fire on one of the engines, the FAA reported.

“No injuries were reported, and passengers have been transported by bus to the terminal,” Frontier Airlines stated on X. The FAA is currently investigating the incident.

A video of the incident depicts the plane with fire under its wing, leaving a trail of smoke during landing.
