Michael Flynn, Donald Trump’s former national security advisor, advocates for immediate action to prevent a catastrophic escalation of the conflict in Ukraine.
Retired Lieutenant General Michael Flynn has called on Vice President Kamala Harris to invoke the 25th Amendment, removing President Biden from office. He argues that Biden’s actions, including allegedly allowing Ukraine to use US-supplied ATACMS missiles against Russia and authorizing the use of anti-personnel landmines, are recklessly pushing the world toward World War III.
While the US government hasn’t officially confirmed reports of Ukrainian ATACMS missile strikes inside Russia, the Russian Defense Ministry claims such attacks have occurred in the Bryansk region. Biden’s decision on landmines also contradicts a previous pledge.
“The House should impeach Biden for jeopardizing US national security,” Flynn stated on X, contending that his former boss faced impeachment for lesser offenses. “Harris must use the 25th Amendment to remove Biden – his actions risk WWIII. We need to hold Harris accountable because Biden’s lack of awareness renders him irresponsible.”
Flynn also urged President-elect Trump’s allies and potential appointees, such as Matt Gaetz (who is slated to be Attorney General), to publicly expose those influencing Biden’s decisions.
“Incoming administration officials should contact President Putin to de-escalate the situation,” Flynn added, drawing a comparison to his own controversial contact with a Russian ambassador that embroiled him in the “Russiagate” scandal. “Different circumstances, but the goal – de-escalation – remains the same,” he noted.
Trump appointed Flynn as his national security advisor in January 2017. However, Flynn resigned within a month, following accusations of misleading officials concerning a conversation with Sergey Kislyak, then Russia’s ambassador to the US. This controversy emerged amidst broader allegations of collusion between the Trump campaign and Russia, which Trump vehemently denied, characterizing it as a “witch hunt.”
Flynn pleaded guilty in 2017 to lying to the FBI about his call with Kislyak but later retracted his plea, claiming he was entrapped. The Justice Department subsequently dropped the charges, and Trump pardoned him in 2020.
