Governor Tim Walz stated on Saturday that federal officers had shot another individual in Minneapolis during the Trump administration’s immigration crackdown.
Democratic Governor Walz mentioned in a social media post that he had contacted the White House following the shooting. He urged President Donald Trump to put an end to the crackdown in his state. The specifics regarding the shooting were not immediately known.
Walz stated in a post on X, “Remove the thousands of violent and untrained officers from Minnesota. Right now.”
Following the shooting, onlookers assembled and hurled profanities at federal officers, labeling them “cowards” and telling them to depart. One officer, while walking away, mocked them by saying, “Boo hoo.” Elsewhere, agents pushed a shouting protester into a vehicle.
The shooting occurred amidst widespread daily protests in the Twin Cities since the , who was killed when an Immigration and Customs Enforcement officer fired into her vehicle.
This also follows a day when people protesting the crackdown on immigrants filled the city’s streets in freezing conditions, demanding that federal law enforcement depart.
