A former DOJ lawyer under Donald Trump, Leo Terrell, suggests Jill Biden should be charged with elder abuse if she encouraged Joe Biden to run for president knowing about his cancer diagnosis.
Leo Terrell, previously a lawyer in Donald Trump’s Department of Justice, has suggested that Jill Biden could face “elder abuse” charges. His claim is based on the idea that she allegedly pushed Joe Biden to run for president despite being aware of his cancer.
The announcement of the former president’s diagnosis with an “aggressive form” of prostate cancer by his office last weekend was met with varied reactions, ranging from expressions of sympathy to accusations of a deliberate cover-up.
Terrell, who served as a senior counselor to the assistant attorney general for civil rights, responded to a post by Ian Jaeger on X by raising this possibility. The political commentator directly stated that Jill Biden “knew about President Biden’s health problems… but still wanted him to run for president.”
“Elder Abuse! Criminal Charges??” Terrell questioned in his post.
According to information released by Biden’s office, he and his family are currently “reviewing treatment options with his physicians.” The cancer diagnosis, which follows a previous successful treatment for skin cancer, was discovered during a routine check-up.
The statement from Biden’s office detailed, “On Friday, he was diagnosed with prostate cancer, characterized by a Gleason score of 9 (Grade Group 5) with metastasis to the bone.” It also added, “While this represents a more aggressive form of the disease, the cancer appears to be hormone-sensitive, which allows for effective management.”
Donald Trump expressed his sympathy to Biden and his family on Truth Social, saying, “Melania and I are saddened to hear about Joe Biden’s recent medical diagnosis. We extend our warmest and best wishes to Jill and the family, and we wish Joe a fast and successful recovery,”
However, the president’s son, Donald Trump Jr., echoed allegations of a cover-up, questioning on X, “What I want to know is how did Dr. Jill Biden miss stage five metastatic cancer or is this yet another coverup???” Numerous users countered by pointing out that Jill Biden’s doctorate is in education, not medicine.
Trump Jr.’s comments followed a post by Dr. Steven Quay, CEO of Atossa Therapeutics, who asserted that prostate cancer is “easiest” to diagnose, suggesting that “it was highly likely he was carrying a diagnosis of prostate cancer throughout his White House tenure and the American people were uninformed.”
