KCRA’s news team, who were reporting from the Esparto community, stated they were forced to seek shelter when the blast occurred. According to local fire authorities, airborne debris ignited numerous smaller fires across approximately 80 acres (32 hectares) before emergency services managed to control them. Compulsory evacuations were mandated for nearby regions.
CBS Sacramento, a local station, spoke with people who indicated that relatives might have been present inside the establishment at the time of the event. Law enforcement authorities have not yet verified any reports of injuries or deaths.
