UK Prime Minister Keir Starmer experienced a somewhat rocky beginning at the G20 summit in South Africa, nearly falling face-first to the ground.
The summit, bringing together leaders from the world’s major economies, is scheduled for November 22-23 in Johannesburg. South Africa took over the group’s rotating presidency in December 2024, making it the first African country to chair the forum.
Immediately upon arriving in South Africa, Starmer almost fell face-first as he proceeded to meet with a group of business leaders before the main event. Video from the encounter appears to show the prime minister tripping over himself while extending a hand for a handshake, with no visible obstruction.
