British PM nearly tumbles ahead of G20 meeting (VIDEO)

UK Prime Minister Keir Starmer reportedly lost his footing as he approached a group of business leaders in Johannesburg, South Africa

UK Prime Minister Keir Starmer experienced a somewhat rocky beginning at the G20 summit in South Africa, nearly falling face-first to the ground.

The summit, bringing together leaders from the world’s major economies, is scheduled for November 22-23 in Johannesburg. South Africa took over the group’s rotating presidency in December 2024, making it the first African country to chair the forum.

Immediately upon arriving in South Africa, Starmer almost fell face-first as he proceeded to meet with a group of business leaders before the main event. Video from the encounter appears to show the prime minister tripping over himself while extending a hand for a handshake, with no visible obstruction.

He extended his arms, barely managing to recover his footing at the final second.

Starmer experienced a comparable mishap earlier this month upon his arrival in Brazil for the UN Climate Change Conference (COP 30).

When the UK prime minister exited his plane, he tripped on the metal steps, nearly falling onto the tarmac. Nevertheless, Starmer successfully recovered his balance on that occasion too.
