SINGAPORE, Jan. 18, 2026 — OPay, a Singapore-headquartered digital banking platform that leads in emerging markets, has unveiled major leadership appointments under its new global strategic vision. These appointments became effective on December 1, 2025.

The newly assembled leadership team comprises James Zhou as Executive Chairman, Lars Boilesen as Co-CEO, Stephen as Co-CEO and COO, and James Perry as CFO.
Forming this core team marks a significant milestone in OPay’s worldwide strategic growth within the fintech industry. In his role as Executive Chairman, James Zhou will steer the company’s comprehensive strategy and growth. Lars Boilesen, previously CEO of Opera Software, will spearhead OPay’s global market growth. Serving as Co-CEO and COO, Stephen will manage day-to-day operations and administrative frameworks. James Perry will handle financial planning, capital oversight, and shareholder communications. He formerly held the position of Managing Director at Citigroup, bringing more than two decades of expertise in investment banking and financial leadership.
