HAU Ha Thi of Vietnam secured first place in the 105k Tsaigu race with a time of 13:27:41, while Melinda PARFAIT from France claimed second in the 100k Siguniang event, finishing in 20:47:46. Since its inception, Kailas FUGA’s trail series has been dedicated to cultivating its international roster of female athletes, encompassing both elite runners and FUGA Mountain Club members. Beyond athletic performance, the brand prioritizes an athlete’s potential to inspire others to engage in trail running. HAU Ha Thi articulated, “My goal is to foster a stronger community where women feel empowered not just to participate, but to lead, compete, and motivate others.” The availability of female-specific products also plays a crucial role. She added, “FUGA delivers lightweight, dependable gear designed for demanding terrains. Their products meet the specific requirements of female athletes, offering comfort, durability, and a focus on performance, which enables me to run with assurance.” Athletes like Kailas FUGA elite Sunmaya BUDHA from Nepal, who earned 2nd place in the 2025 Trail World Championships Long Trail, are also instrumental in redefining perceptions of women in trail running.
At UTMS, FUGA Mountain Club athlete Melinda PARFAIT acknowledged the challenging combination of rain, snow, mud, and high altitude as potential obstacles for women, stating, “This trail race was undeniably the toughest experience I’ve ever had. My body didn’t always respond as I wished, but I was proud to cross the finish line and represent FMC France in 2nd place. Finishing 10th overall, I emerge from this experience stronger, especially mentally!”
Clementine EBEL, Head of FUGA Mountain Club International, remarked, “FUGA Mountain Club runners are unique for their blend of ambition and community spirit. While we are immensely proud of their outstanding achievements, our core mission is to encourage new runners and more women to discover the profound beauty and joy of trail running. They are not only powerful runners but also passionate, thoughtful, and inspiring individuals.”
The year 2025 has been marked by significant victories for the FUGA Mountain Club, which now boasts over 400 members. In China, women constitute more than 45% of the total team, and the global team is striving to achieve similar representation in 2026.
