CHC Navigation Unveils RS7 Handheld SLAM Scanner for BIM, Indoor Mapping, and Reality Capture

SHANGHAI, Feb. 23, 2026 — CHC Navigation (CHCNAV) has introduced the RS7, a new handheld SLAM (Simultaneous Localization and Mapping) scanning system, which was revealed at the 2026 CHCNAV Connect Partner Conference. Engineered for BIM documentation, indoor surveying, renovation planning, and detailed spatial analysis, the CHCNAV RS7 aims to enable professionals to efficiently collect dense 3D data and transform it into usable outputs via CHCNAV’s software and cloud platform.

“Clients today do not assess hardware on its own. They seek a complete, end-to-end solution that accelerates the journey from 3D data collection to final outputs,” stated Byron Yuan, Senior Vice President of CHCNAV. “The CHCNAV RS7 merges high-performance mobile scanning with a unified workflow to facilitate efficient operations in intricate indoor settings.”

High density capture with multi sensor fusion

The CHCNAV RS7 incorporates a next-generation LiDAR scanner that can measure up to 1.15 million points every second. Its expansive field of view (360° x 189°) allows for thorough coverage of floors, walls, and ceilings, minimizing the necessity for multiple passes and complicated scanning movements in confined or crowded areas. The RS7 also contains a high-precision inertial measurement unit with a bias stability superior to 0.5°/h. By fusing LiDAR and inertial data, the system is engineered to preserve stable motion tracking and reliable point cloud quality in settings that often trouble mobile workflows, such as lengthy corridors, repetitive layouts, and interiors with few distinct features.

Integrated field to office workflow with cloud processing

The RS7 is backed by the CHCNAV software ecosystem, which handles scan configuration, data assessment, and post-processing. Through integration with CHCNAV CoCloud, teams can implement a “Cloud + Terminal” workflow for the centralized oversight of projects and data. Field data can be uploaded for automatic processing to create standard outputs like registered point clouds and mesh models. Automating crucial processing stages helps shorten delivery times and reduces the technical expertise needed to turn raw scans into results ready for design evaluation, documentation, and subsequent CAD or BIM applications.

High fidelity visualization with 3D Gaussian Splatting outputs

In addition to geometric information, the CHCNAV RS7 is built to enable lifelike visualization for communication and assessment. It is equipped with dual 12-megapixel cameras fine-tuned for low-light conditions. Leveraging the CHCNAV HPGS 2.0 engine, the workflow produces 3D Gaussian Splatting (3DGS) outputs, which offer photorealistic scene depictions while maintaining spatial relationships. These visualizations can aid stakeholders in comprehending site conditions, assist in monitoring progress, and enhance cooperation among surveying, engineering, and construction teams.
