Regarding performance, FridgePower provides a 2,016Wh capacity and a 1,800W output, allowing it to run a typical refrigerator for more than 21 hours. The system can be expanded with as many as three extra battery modules, achieving a maximum capacity of 8,064Wh for longer backup times. Its idle power draw is a mere 3W, a design aimed at boosting energy efficiency and minimizing waste when in standby mode.
FridgePower incorporates smart energy management capabilities, such as a UPS switchover time below 10 milliseconds to guarantee an uninterrupted power flow during outages. Other features encompass weather-triggered pre-charging, real-time alerts, and app-based remote control, allowing users to manage energy proactively based on evolving situations.
The system is built to satisfy major North American safety standards, holding UL 1778 certification for uninterruptible power systems and UL 1741 for inverters and distributed energy resources. These certifications demonstrate adherence to established safety and performance criteria for home backup power in Canada and the United States.
FridgePower is currently featured on Kickstarter, with a limited number of early bird specials. The primary FridgePower+BlueCell200 unit is available at a super early bird price for the initial 200 backers, with discounted rates also offered for the BlueCell 200 expansion battery and the Display 1 smart screen.
