The project, named “Key Technologies and Engineering of Novel Silicon-Carbon Anode Materials for Lithium-ion Batteries,” has been granted $730,000, which will be used to promote the next-stage development of the silicon-carbon anode project.
Silicon-carbon anode materials are globally recognized as a crucial way to achieve higher energy density in next-generation lithium-ion batteries. This major project focuses on overcoming industry-wide issues such as volume expansion and cycle stability, aiming to speed up the commercialization of this advanced material technology. In the mid-term assessment, Sunrise showed significant progress in material innovation and process engineering, receiving high praise from the expert review panel.
