2025 Northeast Asia Culinary Culture Exchange Week and Liaohe Estuary Gourmet Festival Launch Under “Exquisite Flavors of Liaoning” Theme

PANJIN, China, Dec. 26, 2025 — Panjin hosted the opening ceremony on December 24 for the “Exquisite Flavors of Liaoning” – 2025 Northeast Asia Culinary Culture Exchange Week & Liaohe Estuary Gourmet Festival. Spanning seven days, the event spotlights the multifaceted tastes of Northeast Asia, delivers immersive tastings of Panjin’s iconic dishes, and showcases culinary techniques from the region’s intangible cultural heritage, thereby encouraging mutual appreciation of Northeast Asian foodways and accentuating the singular allure of Liaoning’s gastronomic legacy.

The exchange week comprises three meticulously planned core exhibition sectors plus numerous themed events, forming a culinary cultural stage that fuses Chinese and foreign influences while respecting heritage and fostering innovation. Within the Northeast Asia Cuisine Exhibition Zone and the Panjin Signature Ingredients Zone, distinguished local produce—including Panjin rice, alkaline-soil tomatoes, and milk thistle—appears alongside exotic flavors such as pickled vegetables and birch sap. Concurrently, the Interactive Culinary Zone stages live presentations of Liaoning’s intangible heritage cuisines, exemplified by Liaohe Estuary Fishermen’s Cuisine, affording guests a unified immersion into diverse gastronomic cultures.

The inaugural ceremony also premiered two exhibitions: the “Exquisite Flavors of Liaoning” Culinary and Scenic Culture Stamp Exhibition and the “Rhythms of the Liaohe Estuary · Artistic Tribute to Panjin” Fine Art Exhibition. Fifty-nine philatelic frames illustrating Liaoning’s celebrated sites and signature foods, combined with thirty-six chosen artworks, portray the province’s cultural inheritance and regional personality from diverse angles.

Employing cuisine as its vehicle, the occasion profoundly consolidates culinary resources across Northeast Asia. It simultaneously underpins evolution of the “Exquisite Flavors of Liaoning” public-service trademark and Liaoning food brand, champions the integrated development of “cuisine + tourism + consumption,” amplifies Liaoning’s international reputation, propels regional economic and trade collaboration, and infuses new vitality into the province’s high-caliber economic and social progress.
