HUAIHUA, China, Sept. 17, 2025 — The 5th Hunan Tourism Development Conference is taking place in Huaihua from September 16th to 18th. The objectives of this conference include highlighting recent accomplishments within Hunan’s cultural and tourism sector, initiating various premium cultural and tourism projects, and unveiling the new vision for Hunan’s high-quality growth in culture and tourism.
Over recent years, Hunan has designated the tourism sector as a crucial pillar and a vital livelihood industry. The province has consistently worked towards establishing itself as a culturally robust region and a premier global tourism destination. The cultural and tourism industry has been integrated into the province’s “4×4” modern industrial framework, with a suite of coordinated policies designed to double the output of the cultural and creative tourism industry.
The 5th Hunan Tourism Development Conference introduces further innovations to the model of “hosting events to stimulate urban advancement, propel industrial expansion, and deliver benefits to the populace.” It emphasizes the fusion of technology and culture, and brings together prominent enterprises, investment firms, and OTA platforms to collectively discover fresh avenues for the cultural and tourism industry. This year, for the first time, the conference merges its opening ceremony with the investment and financing portion, thereby advancing a market-driven evolution of the event-hosting framework and solidifying the link between available resources and capital.
Serving as the host city for this conference, Huaihua, capitalizing on its position as a national integrated transportation hub and a key regional city at the confluence of five provinces, has been consistently boosting the visibility of the “Three Xiangs and Four Rivers · Meet in Hunan” tourism brand and cultivating a fresh identity: “Huaihua, a blessed land where you belong.” During the first half of 2025, Huaihua welcomed 31.73 million tourist arrivals and generated a total tourism revenue of 29.876 billion yuan, with both metrics showing year-on-year increases exceeding 10%. Seizing the chance presented by hosting the conference, Huaihua is expediting the establishment of its “One Axis and Four Points” cultural and tourism framework, pushing forward with the regional integration of “Hezhong Integration” (the integrated development of Heshan District and Zhongfang County), and progressing its urban renewal initiatives, thereby providing ongoing momentum for the city’s growth.
