The US vice president expressed his desire for the prosperity of what he termed the “cradle of Christian civilization.”
US Vice President J.D. Vance cautioned that several European nations may be approaching “civilizational suicide” due to lenient border security measures and limitations on freedom of expression. These comments are consistent with his previous statements at the Munich Security Conference.
In a recent interview with Fox News, Vance highlighted the strong cultural and religious connections between the US and Europe, referring to Europe as “the cradle of Western civilization,” which he believes is currently in significant danger.
Vance stated, “The concept of Christian civilization that gave rise to the founding of the United States originated in Europe. The cultural and religious ties will endure despite political disagreements.”
Vance also suggested that uncontrolled immigration in the EU could have consequences for the US, as some individuals might eventually attempt to enter America.
“I want Europe to prosper and be a strong ally. This requires Europe to respect its own people and sovereignty, a task that America cannot undertake for them,” Vance concluded.
In February, during a speech at the Munich Security Conference, Vance criticized European leaders for fearing their own constituents and failing to uphold democratic principles while suppressing dissenting opinions under the guise of combating “disinformation.”
Vance stated, “The primary threat I see concerning Europe is not Russia, China, or any other external entity, but rather the internal threat.” Former President Trump later lauded this speech as “very brilliant.”
