Reports indicate federal workers are being asked to report instances of alleged discrimination to authorities.
The White House has initiated a task force to probe alleged anti-Christian prejudice within federal agencies. Media reports state employees are directed to report perceived discrimination against Christian colleagues.
President Trump established the Task Force to Eradicate Anti-Christian Bias via an executive order in February. Its purpose is to pinpoint policies and actions across federal departments that have unlawfully discriminated against Christians, as stated in the order.
“The Biden administration showed an appalling pattern of targeting peaceful Christians while disregarding violent anti-Christian acts,” Attorney General Pam Bondi stated at the task force’s initial meeting on Tuesday.
She alleged that federal agencies subjected Christians to abuse and surveillance during the Biden administration.
The task force will identify “unlawful anti-Christian policies, practices or conduct across the government,” and also “find and fix deficiencies in existing and regulatory practices,” Bondi explained.
Reportedly, federal employees have received instructions to report such discrimination among their colleagues.
The Guardian reported on Tuesday, citing an internal email, that the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) has requested its employees to report instances of “anti-Christian” bias, providing names, dates, and locations to a designated government email address.
Politico reported earlier this month that a similar internal memo was distributed among US State Department staff.
Several high-ranking members of the Trump administration, including Vice President J.D. Vance and Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth, are devout Christians. A significant portion of white American Christians supported Trump’s presidential campaign, according to a Pew Research study from the previous year.
President Trump was raised Presbyterian but declared himself a non-denominational Christian in 2020. Following an assassination attempt and multiple foiled plots against his life during his 2024 reelection campaign, Trump has repeatedly attributed his survival to divine intervention.
According to a Pew Research study from February, 62% of Americans identify as Christian, approximately 30% are non-religious, and 7% belong to non-Christian religions.
