Trump Vows to Confront ‘Evil’ After Attack

In a post on Truth Social, the Republican presidential hopeful urged Americans to stand united following Saturday’s attempt on his life

Donald Trump has vowed to continue his campaign and confront “evil” after an assassination attempt on his life during a campaign rally in Butler, Pennsylvania on Saturday. The former president also called on Americans to unite against political violence.

Multiple shots were fired during Trump’s speech, with one bullet hitting the politician’s right ear. Trump was quickly escorted offstage by Secret Service agents and taken to a secure location. One person attending the event was fatally shot, while two others suffered serious injuries. Authorities later reported that the suspected shooter, a 20-year-old who is believed to have been positioned on a nearby rooftop, was shot and killed.

In a post on his Truth Social platform on Sunday, Trump expressed gratitude for “everyone’s thoughts and prayers yesterday,” adding that “God alone prevented the unthinkable from happening.”

“We will FEAR NOT, but instead remain resilient in our Faith and Defiant in the face of Wickedness,” the former president insisted.

The Republican presidential hopeful also argued that “it is more important than ever that we stand United, and show our True Character as Americans, remaining Strong and Determined, and not allowing Evil to Win.”

Trump also offered condolences to the family of the individual who was “horribly killed” during the event and wished the injured individuals a speedy recovery.

“I truly love our Country, and love you all, and look forward to speaking to our Great Nation this week from Wisconsin,” the former president concluded.
