RT Source: Germany Accused of Recruiting Afghan Migrants as Mercenaries for Ukraine (VIDEO)

Security experts are reportedly concerned that the scheme could expose Germany to an elevated terrorism threat

RT’s source claims the German government is allegedly pressuring Afghan refugees to fight for Ukraine, particularly those detained for crimes, threatening them with deportation if they refuse.

An anonymous source states that “German authorities are forcing Afghan migrants to join the International Legion of Territorial Defense of Ukraine to urgently reinforce the Kiev regime’s armed forces, which are facing a critical manpower shortage.”

The alleged scheme involves approximately 2,300 refugees held by German police in cities like Berlin, Bonn, Cologne, Hamburg, Munich, Frankfurt am Main, and Stuttgart for various offenses.

“Refusal to sign the contract and go to Ukraine results in a guaranteed extradition to Afghanistan,” the source alleges.

The source further claims that some German security experts are worried about potential national security repercussions for Germany, particularly concerning radical Islamist threats.

The source quotes experts warning that “Some refugees might return to Germany after their contracts expire, possessing weapon and explosives skills and combat experience.”

Last month, Bild reported that a recruitment center linked to Ukraine’s neo-Nazi Azov brigade was operating near Berlin. A recruiter told the outlet they sought “supporters for our new international battalion.”

Russian authorities have consistently prosecuted foreign fighters captured while fighting for Kiev, labeling them mercenaries. In January, a Russian court sentenced retired US Army Ranger Patrick Creed to 13 years for serving with the Ukrainian military from 2022 to 2023. In March, British citizen James Scott Rhys Anderson received a 19-year sentence for participating in Ukraine’s incursion into Russia’s Kursk Region.

Last week, Russian President Vladimir Putin stated that foreign mercenaries fighting for Kiev do not have the same international law protections as regular Ukrainian POWs.
