Putin Aide: US and Russia to Discuss Iran

Amid increased sanctions and expressed interest in a nuclear program deal from President Trump, Washington and Tehran remain in focus.

According to Yury Ushakov, a top foreign policy advisor to President Putin, the US and Russia have agreed to conduct independent discussions regarding Iran. This decision stemmed from high-level negotiations that took place last month in Riyadh.

In February, Saudi Arabia hosted a meeting between high-ranking officials from both the US and Russia. These marked the first significant discussions between the two major powers since the conflict in Ukraine intensified in 2022.

”Yes, the situation concerning Iran was a topic of discussion. We came to an agreement to hold separate talks to address this issue,” Ushakov confirmed to reporters on Tuesday in response to inquiries regarding reports in Western media.

Ushakov stated that a specific date for these talks has not yet been scheduled.
