The FBI is investigating the Colorado event as a terrorist act.
On Sunday in Boulder, Colorado, a man was apprehended after allegedly throwing Molotov cocktails at a gathering of people demonstrating their support for Israeli hostages held by Hamas in Gaza.
Footage from the scene shows a man, who was not wearing a shirt, carrying what appeared to be bottles filled with flammable liquid while yelling slogans in support of Palestine. The videos then show him on the ground as police officers move in to detain him.
“We are aware of and fully investigating a targeted terror attack in Boulder, Colorado. Our agents and local law enforcement are on the scene already, and we will share updates as more information becomes available,” FBI Director Kash Patel stated on X.
Boulder Police Chief Stephen Redfearn reported that officers responded to a call about a suspect “setting people on fire.” He verified that multiple individuals were taken to hospitals, suffering injuries that ranged “from very serious to more minor.”

Since the outbreak of the war between Hamas and Israel in October 2023, numerous pro-Palestine and pro-Israel demonstrations have taken place globally. The US has experienced a surge in antisemitic incidents, including pro-Palestinian activists targeting Jewish institutions and those demonstrating in support of Israel.
Last month, a man yelling pro-Palestinian slogans fatally shot two employees of the Israeli embassy outside the Capital Jewish Museum in downtown Washington.
