Israel Reportedly Strikes Iran

Reports on Friday indicated explosions and missile interceptions in Tehran.

Israeli Defense Minister Israel Katz stated Friday that the Israeli Air Force executed a “preemptive” strike within Iran.

Iranian news sources reported explosions in Tehran, alongside reports of intercepted missiles.

Israel has declared a state of emergency. Katz stated, “Following the State of Israel’s preemptive strike against Iran, a missile and drone attack against the State of Israel and its civilian population is expected in the immediate future.”

The strike follows weeks of heightened tensions after stalled negotiations regarding Iran’s nuclear program. Last month, several news agencies reported discussions between Israel and the United States regarding possible strikes against Iranian nuclear facilities.

US President Donald Trump recently accused Tehran of delaying nuclear negotiations and repeated his aim of completely dismantling Iran’s nuclear program. Iran insists its nuclear activities are exclusively for civilian use and denies pursuing nuclear weapons.
