GUIDE: 2022 bar exam passers clearance procedure, oathtaking, roll-signing


MANILA, Philippines – The Supreme Court released the bar exam results 2022 on Friday, April 14, 2023. A total of 3,992 out of 9,183 (43.47%) successfully hurdled the grueling exam.

This was the second digitalized and regionalized bar exams held on November 9, 13, 16, and 20, 2022.

Ahead of the much-awaited release of bar results, SC Office of the Bar Confidant (OBC) announced details of the oathtaking and roll-signing “to give the prospective successful examinees ample time to undertake the necessary preparations.”


NOTE: The Bar candidates who were conditionally admitted to take the 2022 Bar Examinations and have passed the same shall be allowed to join the Oath-Taking Ceremony after they have submitted the requisite documents within the period previously given to them to accomplish the same.

DATE AND VENUE

Both the oathtaking and the roll-signing of the 2022 bar passers will be on May 2, 2023 at the Philippine International Convention Center (PICC) in Pasay City, Manila.

The oathtaking will be at 10:00 in the morning and the roll-signing will follow after.


ATTIRE

The oathtaking and the Signing of the Roll are official court proceedings, and in keeping with the dignity of the above events, the Bar passers/inductees shall come in proper court attire.

Gowns, indecent suits and dresses, costumes and other inappropriate attire are STRICTLY NOT ALLOWED.

Those who will not abide by the required attire will be REFUSED ENTRY into the venue.

Each inductee should bring their own plain, black toga, which will be worn during the entire oathtaking ceremony.

Guests, for their part, shall come in proper business attire. Shorts, denim pants/skirts, rubber shoes, slippers and shirts without collar are STRICTLY NOT ALLOWED. This rule is also in accordance with PICC’s dress code.


NOTE: Photos of recommended and prohibited attires will be sent to the Bar passers along with their clearances and other important announcements.


FEES

Th amount of Php 5,000 shall be paid by each bar passer/inductee before they can attend the oathtaking and roll signing.

Payment instructions will be sent to their registered email accounts after the release of Bar exam results.

Said fees will cover the expenses for the event, including the use of venue and allowances and meals of the personnel who will assist and serve on therein.


CLEARANCE PROCEDURE

The Supreme Court announced on April 14 the details of the clearance procedure.

Bar Passers Clearance Procedure

Passers are required to obtain a clearance from the Office of the Bar Confidant (OBC) subject to identity and records verification prior to the oathtaking and signing of the roll of attorneys.
