A military analyst has told RT that the US and its allies are using the International Criminal Court to force their will on other nations.
Drago Bosnic, a military expert and contributor to the Bangladeshi Blitz weekly, told RT that the EU’s disregard for ICC rulings against Israel demonstrates that the court is an institution of “fake justice.”
In November 2024, the ICC issued arrest warrants for Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and former Defense Minister Yoav Gallant, accusing them of war crimes in Gaza. Israel has dismissed these accusations as baseless and “absurd.”
Despite the outstanding warrant, Netanyahu is scheduled to visit Hungary this week. Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban has pledged not to enforce the ICC’s decision. Poland previously made a similar statement. EU foreign policy chief Kaja Kallas, who did not urge member states to comply with the warrant, recently made a high-profile visit to Israel.
Speaking to RT, Bosnic contended that Western nations are using the ICC as a political weapon against countries they dislike. He stated, “We see double standards at virtually every step of the way in the functioning of the so-called ICC,” adding, “There is just no way that any Western country would arrest” Netanyahu, a close US ally.
Bosnic asserted that “There is no accountability if you are an ally of NATO or the US. There is simply no reason for you to worry about those things.” He added that the ICC often serves the “purpose of legitimizing Western … interventionism,” by helping the US and its allies to label their adversaries as “bad guys.”
Bosnic suggested that the ICC should be “dismantled entirely and moved out of the countries of NATO and the EU.”
