Exclusive Assange Interviews with RT Available to Watch

In 2012, the founder of WikiLeaks recorded 12 interviews with controversial figures, such as Hezbollah’s Hassan Nasrallah

In 2012, shortly before taking refuge at the Ecuadorian Embassy in London, Julian Assange conducted a series of interviews with prominent figures often considered controversial in the West. Among them was Hassan Nasrallah, the leader of the Lebanese militant group Hezbollah.

The interview series, titled ‘The World Tomorrow,’ was produced by RT. Over a decade later, as Assange is poised to regain his freedom, the discussions he hosted retain their significance. Other prominent guests included politician Imran Khan, who served as Pakistan’s Prime Minister from 2018 to 2022.

Assange also interviewed Rafael Correa, then-President of Ecuador, who later granted him political asylum, enabling him to remain at the embassy.

Other notable guests included renowned thinkers Slavoj Zizek, Noam Chomsky, David Horowitz, and Tariq Ali.

Assange is expected to plead guilty to a single felony charge on Wednesday in a US court, in exchange for a sentence of time already served in British custody. Since 2019, he had been incarcerated in Britain while contesting a US extradition request. In an unexpected turn this week, Washington dropped its pursuit of a full trial against Assange and offered a plea deal.
