CHANGZHOU, China, Sept. 15, 2025 — The 2025 International New Energy Expo, centered around the theme “New Energy · New Power · New Changzhou,” commenced on September 13 in Changzhou, China. Recognized as a pivotal hub for China’s new energy sector, Changzhou has cultivated a comprehensive ecosystem encompassing new energy generation, storage, transmission, consumption, and networking. From January through July of this year, the output value generated by the city’s major new energy enterprises surpassed 507.7 billion yuan, marking a 4.3% increase year-on-year. The city leads the nation in industrial concentration and has consistently been ranked first in investment appeal for three consecutive years.
During the expo’s opening ceremony, agreements for 33 significant projects were finalized. These initiatives span various cutting-edge domains, including green hydrogen, energy storage, and smart energy management, representing a cumulative investment exceeding 33.7 billion yuan. International collaboration emerged as a key feature, with numerous global corporations announcing intentions to partner with Changzhou in areas like green hydrogen and energy storage, aiming to jointly accelerate the global energy transition. The initiation of these projects and the strengthening of international partnerships are expected to further enhance the integration and global competitiveness of Changzhou’s new energy industrial supply chain.
The expo served as a platform for several leading new energy companies from Changzhou to present their latest innovations, such as ultra-fast charging batteries and highly efficient photovoltaic modules. This year, the expo introduced an innovative “exhibition + event” format, incorporating a public carnival in collaboration with the “Jiangsu Football City League” to make new energy technologies more accessible to the general public. The exhibition zones highlighted advanced applications, including novel photovoltaic products, virtual power plants, and humanoid robots, offering a comprehensive view of the industry’s journey from technological development to practical deployment.
Leveraging this expo, Changzhou is committed to fostering innovation to address the contemporary imperative for green development and to offer Chinese expertise towards the worldwide energy transition. The Changzhou International Communication Center affirmed the city’s commitment to capitalizing on its manufacturing and application strengths, accelerating innovation in new scenarios and industrial cooperation, establishing itself as an internationally influential new energy hub, and contributing a “Changzhou Solution” to the creation of a global energy innovation community.
