CHONGQING, China, Nov. 04, 2025 — On October 31, 2025, the Chongqing International Talent Exchange Conference, also known as the 3rd Chongqing Three Gorges Talent Festival, commenced in Wanzhou. This city, a vital hub within the Three Gorges Reservoir Area of Chongqing Municipality in southwest China, is extending an open invitation to skilled individuals from across the globe.
This year’s talent festival, co-hosted by Wanzhou and nine other districts and counties in northeastern Chongqing, is primarily focused on attracting and consolidating talent within the Three Gorges region to bolster key industries and support high-quality development.
The event aims to construct a comprehensive platform for talent and foster a strong integration between the talent supply chain and the industrial demand chain. A total of 13,000 employment opportunities were made available, more than 10 talent-related projects and collaboration agreements were finalized, and over 1,000 industry professionals with practical experience were successfully recruited.
Notably, this year’s festival marked the first time nine foreign experts were invited, joining a gathering of over 20 academicians and senior specialists. The opening ceremony featured several significant moments, including the official commissioning of the first phase of the Nobel Prize workstation and the impressive debut of various cutting-edge international advancements, such as a pan-cancer single-cell database and attosecond laser AI diagnostic technology.
As a crucial regional center in northeastern Chongqing, Wanzhou bears an important responsibility. In recent years, through its talent initiatives, the city has intensified its efforts across the entire talent lifecycle: from attracting new professionals to cultivating existing ones, ensuring their retention, and strategically deploying them.
To date, Wanzhou has seen 5,740 R&D professionals settle in the city, with over 5,200 highly skilled individuals making significant contributions. The Three Gorges Talent Festival has evolved into northeastern Chongqing’s most influential talent-recruitment event, evidenced by its growth from signing 50 talent projects at its inaugural festival in 2023, attracting over 7,000 students to the 2024 event, to receiving more than 9,000 resumes this year.
The organization of this festival signifies a new phase in the coordinated advancement of talent initiatives throughout northeastern Chongqing. From scientific breakthroughs achieved at the Nobel Prize workstation to the development and growth of young talents, Wanzhou is adopting a more inclusive approach and cultivating an enhanced environment, thereby transforming its vision for talent-driven development into a tangible success amidst high-quality growth.
