Jiangsu-Germany Dialogue 2025 Wraps Up in Changzhou

CHANGZHOU, China, Sept. 15, 2025 — The 2025 Jiangsu-Germany Dialogue successfully took place in Changzhou from September 12-13. The event, which centered on the low-carbon economy and the transition to green practices, brought together representatives from Chinese and German companies and organizations to explore opportunities for collaboration.

With a global consensus on green development, the low-carbon transition is now a crucial area for international partnership and a key factor in strengthening ties between Changzhou and Germany. Changzhou, an active participant in the green transition, has a strong industrial base, featuring five industrial clusters each exceeding 100 billion yuan in scale, covering high-end equipment, new energy, and new materials. In 2024, Changzhou’s new energy industry surpassed 850 billion yuan, making it one of the top regions in China for industrial agglomeration and providing significant collaboration opportunities for both Chinese and foreign enterprises.

As a vital platform for cooperation between China and Germany, the Sino-German (Changzhou) Innovation Industry Park has drawn in over 70 businesses from German-speaking countries, including “hidden champions” like Jima, Minder, and Festo, with total investments surpassing 2.3 billion euros.

In recent years, Changzhou and Germany have deepened cooperation across multiple sectors and boosted two-way exchanges. To date, 7 pairs of sister city relationships have been established between Changzhou (at city and district levels) and Germany. Simultaneously, student and faculty exchanges, along with joint training programs across numerous schools, have injected new energy into bilateral cooperation.

Now in its fifth year, the Jiangsu-Germany Dialogue has become a key platform to advance bilateral cooperation. The China Germany Friendship Association, a co-organizer, emphasized its importance, hoping it will serve as a window for broader and deeper cooperation between the two nations. Enterprise representatives at the event also pointed out the vast potential of the Chinese market; integration into the local supply chain will help improve product competitiveness and better serve the global market. With a firm foundation and complementary strengths, China-Germany cooperation in green and low-carbon sectors will undoubtedly provide new impetus for the green transition in both regions and worldwide.
